• Pain Management

  • Back and neck pain, knee or shoulder pain, chronic pain…these and others can result from injury, overuse, illness, or other unknown causes. Pain and inflammation are the body’s way of sending a signal to us that something is wrong or out of balance. Acupuncture is an effective, natural way to treat pain without the side effects of medications and surgery.

In Asian medicine theory, pain is due to an obstruction affecting the free flow of qi (pronounced ‘chee’). Qi is the vital energy that nourishes the cells and tissues of the body. When qi does not flow smoothly, pain and weakness can result. By inserting fine, sterile needles at specific points in the body, your acupuncturist will seek to break down obstructions. This enables the natural movement of qi and promotes the restoration of balance and wellbeing.

Julie may also suggest other lifestyle adjustments to enhance treatment and speed healing. This may include diet, exercise, meditation and breathing practices.
