eStim

Electrical stimulation therapy, or eStim, is a treatment modality that stimulates blood flow and moves qi. It is an effective method for treating muscle spasms and pain. eStim can prevent muscle atrophy and build strength in patients with injuries. It is also helpful in keeping muscles active after any type spinal cord injury or strokes.

What can I expect during treatment?
During an eStim treatment, Julie first inserts acupuncture needles into, or near, an area of the body where muscle pain or weakness exists. Small leads are then clipped to two of the acupuncture needles. These leads are attached to the eStim device which, once initiated by Julie, will send small electrical signals through the leads to the needles. You will feel a very slight pulsing sensation at the site of the needles and possibly along the affected muscle. eStim is left in place for several minutes.
